At FluffPost, your privacy matters. Whether you’re here to read pet advice, sign up for our newsletter, or click through to one of our affiliate recommendations, we’re committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about how we use it. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Please read it carefully.

What information do we collect?

When you visit FluffPost, we may collect certain personal information that you provide to us voluntarily, such as your name and email address when signing up for our newsletter, submitting a form, or contacting us directly. Should we offer products or paid features in the future, additional details such as billing addresses and payment information may also be collected through secure third-party payment providers.

In addition to information you actively provide, we automatically collect certain technical data about your device and browsing behaviour, including but not limited to your IP address, browser type, operating system, referral source, pages visited, and time spent on the site. We also use cookies and similar technologies for analytics purposes and to track affiliate link performance. This may include anonymous tracking codes used by third-party affiliate networks to record whether a purchase was made after clicking a link on our site. While this data does not usually identify you directly, it may still be considered personal data under applicable privacy laws.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data such as health information or political beliefs. We also do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

How do we use your information?

The information we collect is used primarily to operate, maintain and improve the services provided by FluffPost. This includes sending email communications such as newsletters, content updates, or replies to enquiries; monitoring website traffic and engagement through analytics tools; improving the overall user experience; and, where relevant, tracking the performance of affiliate partnerships to ensure we can receive proper commission when you click on third-party links.

In future, if FluffPost introduces e-commerce features, collected information may also be used to process payments, deliver purchased content or services, manage user accounts, and comply with financial or legal obligations. We may also use aggregated and anonymised data for statistical purposes or to evaluate the success of particular content or campaigns.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, nor do we engage in profiling beyond standard web analytics and email marketing segmentation. You may opt out of receiving emails from us at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any message.

How long do we keep your information?

We retain personal information only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy. For example, we will keep your email address while you are subscribed to our newsletter or until you request deletion. Analytics and affiliate tracking data may be retained in anonymised or aggregate form for internal reporting and performance monitoring.

If you request to have your personal information removed, we will delete it unless we are required to retain certain details for legal, regulatory, tax, or contractual reasons. In the event of any future purchases made through the site, certain data (such as transaction records) may be stored securely for a period as required under UK law.

We regularly review the data we hold and ensure that it is either deleted or anonymised when no longer necessary.

What are your privacy rights?

As a user based in the United Kingdom or elsewhere within the European Economic Area, you are entitled to exercise certain legal rights regarding your personal data. These include the right to access the personal information we hold about you, the right to request correction or deletion of your data, the right to restrict or object to certain types of processing, and the right to request a copy of your data in a commonly used format.

You may also withdraw your consent to receive marketing communications at any time. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, you may contact us using the details provided below. We may need to verify your identity before proceeding with certain requests. In most cases, we will respond within one calendar month.

If you believe we are processing your data unlawfully, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection authority.

How do we keep your information safe?

We take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to ensure that your personal information is protected from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. This includes the use of SSL encryption, secure servers, password-protected systems, and the careful selection of third-party service providers who process data on our behalf.

While we take all appropriate measures to safeguard your information, it’s important to note that no system can be guaranteed as 100% secure. We therefore encourage you not to send sensitive personal information via unencrypted channels such as standard email.

All data is stored either within the UK or in jurisdictions that offer adequate protection under UK data protection laws. In cases where we use providers based outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or similar legal mechanisms.
